The Education President
Or leaving childrens behind. From the New York Times comes news that Bush has decided that tax cuts for his crony pals come before making sure American schools are the best they can be. I guess all the talk about making sure American students are the best educated and prepared to compete with the best from around the globe was just talk. The Education Department would get $54.4 billion for discretionary spending in the fiscal year starting Oct. 1. That would amount to a cut of $3.7 billion, or 6.4 percent, from this year. That's right, cuts in funding for technology, the very thing Bush said we need to focus on in the years to come. ![]() |
